An article published this week in the medical journal Pediatrics demonstrates the potential for innovations in the field of analytics to positively impact patient health. With the assistance of HP Labs researchers and funding from HP's Living Progress, staff at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH), a teaching hospital associated with the Stanford University School of Medicine, designed, built, and deployed a real-time patient status system, the Patient Safety Dashboard, in the hospital's pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). -
February 2014 HP Labs' Chief Engineer Chandrakant Patel inducted into Silicon Valley Hall of Fame
HP Labs' Chief Engineer, Chandrakant Patel, was formally inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Silicon Valley Engineering Council at a banquet on February 18, 2014. Speaking to a room full of his peers at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, Chandrakant spoke of finding himself in a "valley of tinkerers" in the 1980s, where the fundamental building blocks of computing were created. He went on to share his vision of inspiring young people to apply information technology to develop solutions to help society, drive economic growth and save natural resources - solutions at the crossroads of people, profit, planet and petabytes! -
